E-books or printed books, which one do you really prefer? There has been an ongoing battle between individuals regarding regular books or eBooks. It cannot be denied that every individual reader is subjected to his or her own preference, and when it comes to choosing books , there is really no one size fits all solution. There are some who prefer regular books than eBooks, while others prefer Kindle books and e-books over regular ones. So, why do people really prefer the kindle over regular books and vice versa?

Why Do People Prefer Regular Books?

It cannot be denied that with the dawn of modern technology, the way people read also change. These days, people read using their smartphones. They go online and surf the net (sometimes even browsing porn sites in private) for the latest blog posts and read at their own phase or place. But despite these modern changes in the reading arena, many still stick to physical or regular books for good reasons.

First, individuals choose regular books because, for them, eBooks do not really make readers feel engaged, just like how regular books do. Going to the bookstores to buy regular books is said to be more fun than shopping from digital stores selling eBooks. For individuals who prefer regular books, they believe that these books have a soul, unlike eBooks, with the same feel and look when you read them on an e-reader or tablet.

Regular books are preferred by many individuals for these acts as their constant comforters, and they love the feel and smell of books’ crispy-bound pages.

Why Do they Prefer eBooks Over Regular Books?

Although many readers prefer regular print books, there’s also an increased number of individuals who choose eBooks. Electronic books have unique qualities in them that regular books don’t possess and many advantages offered for readers.

Individuals choose eBooks because these are more convenient and instant. With these types, you don’t really need to get off your chair and leave the house to buy new books or borrow one from the local library. E-books can be directly purchased from digital bookstores and downloaded to your own device.

Many readers also prefer eBooks because these are more portable than prints or regular books. The latter is heavy. Modern e-readers, on the other hand, are easy to carry and contains the entire library of book titles than bring few regular books. E-readers also come with built-in dictionaries, so there will be no frustrating instances when you come across a word, and you don’t know the meaning of it. This is actually a common scenario if you read regular books. In eBooks, the dictionary appears right on the screen while in the case of regular books, you even have to search the whole house to find a dictionary and look for the meaning of certain words.

Now that you have learned why people prefer the kindle over regular books and vice versa, you can now probably decide on your own. But regardless of the choices people, it’s best to instill in their minds reading remains an excellent pursuit to do whether they are reading eBooks or regular books.  … Read the rest
